A Week Of Kuching

I’ve spent more than a week back in my hometown, I’ve undergone nothing but immense awesomeness and pleasure. Home cook meal is simply the best! Dining out is great but on average basis I still prefer home cook meals, a variety of fruits and vegetables that I missed so much when I was studying in the land of Russia. Did I mentioned that bananas in Malaysia are maddeningly cheap and delicious?!

Thursday: I had a reunion with my long time primary school friend Chiew Chin. Eventually we stoned at Ipoh Town with a cup of white coffee each and ended up talking for hours till we decided to head to some cafe’ to have Taiwanese food. I must admit it was the best ‘ma la mien’ ever tasted in Kuching!

It might be our last meet upbut hopefully not, since she’ll be heading to UK or Australia to continue her degree in Pharmacy.

Friday: Another dinner with Yew Peng, another close friend that I knew since pre-school I tell you. It was fun catching up with each other, pondering and looking back into times. Very nostalgic and feeling amazingly proud at each other on how things ended up now. Great times :)

Saturday: Met up with Melvin & cousin, eventually they know each other very well. We had dinner at Kuching Festival, nothing particularly different about the food but what remains similar to previous years was the quantity of Ah Bengs and Ah Liens.

Did I mentioned, how stunned I was when I compare Russian girls with Malaysian girls. Culture shock much when I realised there were no more hot models walking everywhere, but sadly Ah Liens that eventually wear boots and furred jacket in Malaysia.

Sunday: Went shopping with mum and ended up with 2 shirts. Evening, I had dinner with Chiew Fong, Kai Wen & Yan Wei at some Hong Kong restaurant and had my long time favourite deer meat for dinner. Thumbs up for dinner!

Too much of eating out, I shall oblige myself to undergo detoxification since daily jogging doesn’t do much help I suppose. Temptations everywhere, further more living with my grandparents means stuffing food into your buccal cavity almost every hour. I certainly do not want to end up with a double self by the time I begin a new semester.

3 days break for me to properly reschedule my outings, especially when friends are coming back by the end of the month and Raya holidays.
