С Новым Годом

Time flies, as I was slouching off in the humble abode of my domicile, concurrently reflections of this year brought me to ponder upon them silently. 2009 has been a great year, despite repeatedly proclaimed that previous years has been great I must voice out that 18 years of life, 2009 has brought much significance.

God has showered his boundless blessings upon me and I believe he will do so for 2010.

I believe that resolutions made are meant inscribed for embellishing purposes on this filthy, grimy blog of mine. Nevertheless, I will T-R-Y to accomplish them :]

STUDY MORE
Force this lethargy out from possessing this feeble body of mine. No more procrastination and more cramming and torturing in order to digest all my books, in order to ace in studies and enter med.

           SPEND LESS
Control my spending since I am cognizant that I am bloody P-O-O-R. Yes, Gabrielle a.k.a Porcelain and Alex, please remove the label “Rich Spoilt Brat” from me! Well, maybe I’ll start to resolute on this after I get myself a sling bag, jacket and maybe a pair of shoes. Promised :]

GET BRACES DONE
Did some research and realised that doing braces in Russia is way cheaper compared to Malaysia, thus I made up my mind to burn a huge hole and bear the hideousness for the next years. I better not change my mind.
STAY ALIVE
Begin a major transformation on my diet, eat more fruits and vegetables and increase intake of meat to build a healthy body. Be more aware on roads since drivers in Russia are literally BLIND. I seriously do not want to die at young age.

Of course these are not the only resolutions for 2010, but the top obliged ones, compulsory to be accomplished or else… or else… [               ] fill in the blanks. Last but not least…
С Новым Годом всех людей в мире....
Happy New Year to everyone

Давайте познакомимся

After weeks of endless practicing Russian songs and short sketches, we finally had our first party along with all our lecturers and friends. To be honest, having friends from places like Kenya, Africa, Jordan, Palestine, Arab and etc is an exhilarating experience. Apart from knowing their culture, lifestyle it teaches me to appreciate Malaysia a wee bit more.

Sat Night Fun

The whole crew from left: Yu Jaan, Daniel, Melvin, Dennis, Shen Yew, Bernard, Yew Veen, Me & Dennis again >.<

I had a really great time with my fellow seniors last Saturday, smuggled in some alcohol into our hostel, played some cards, gobble down ‘Lays’ chips and of course.. home made karaoke in Daniel’s room! Yes, everyone had to squeeze in front of a laptop monitor just to read the lyrics and sing like people infected with mad cow disease.

I seriously think that Vodka turns people high though.

Managed to watch some Japanese ghost movie but I didn’t manage to finish it cause it was too late already, further more alcohol was making me drowsy and I lugged my body all the way onto my bed and fell asleep instantly.

Sleep straight till 11.30AM the next morning, there wasn’t any church service considering the fact that we had X’mas bash the day before. So, decided to catch ‘Avatar’ in 3D with Mike and Dennis.

Despite watching everything in Russian, the show was simply fantastic. It made me realised how important mother nature is and human’s cruelty and overzealous attempts to destroy it for globalization purposes. Thumbs up for the movie.

Random: I have lost count on days and time, 24 hours a day is certainly not enough for me. Classes, control tests, choirs, homework and recently an article to be submitted to Xun Jin which is due tomorrow and I have 10 math questions untouched yet. *Breathe*

Holidays are approaching, New Year is approaching, first semester exam is approaching, more things are approaching.

Christmas Dinner

So I’m 2 days late for a Christmas post, you know why? My schedule is jammed packed that I nearly suffocate and died. I received early Christmas presents, my Russian teacher drilled us with 5 hours of Russian class on Christmas eve, awesome right? But nothing beats the best present I received from my Chemistry teacher, a Control Test on Christmas Day! I’m contended in jovialness.

Why can’t she be caught in an avalanche or something?

It was such a hectic day, I had Christmas Dinner with my fellow friends. Despite 4 long hours of cooking, dicing, chopping, frying, wrapping in the kitchen… we had a great deal of fun!

Just in case you never realise, Abraham mediates everytime he eats.

I received presents!

My shopping buddies!

There were too many cameras that we have no idea where to look!

Invited friends from Africa, India and Arab as well, we even tasted original “Nasi Briyani” thanks to Nabis to cooked who huge pot for us!
A perfect ending to our Christmas dinner!

Frost

I woke up promptly around 6AM, with only 4 hours of sleep… my head is about to face rutted, rutty road ahead. Cramming Biology all night since I had Control Test this morning, topics are not that many but in detail there is a whole mountain to jam in my head.

Nevertheless, sleep cajoles me to sink into my bed and yet I wasted 15 minutes thinking whether to get up or not.

The view today was exceptionally stunning than before! A sudden drop and increase of temperature can really alter the comeliness and allure of what God has created.

Immediately, I grabbed hold on my camera and snap some pictures bearing the icy breeze blows  through every tissue in my body.

While waiting for Dennis & the rest, I ran out my hostel and in front of my naked eyes was a panoramic scene of winter. With partially frozen snow, it adds glitter to the whole portrait.

I had to rush for a trolleybus to head to city centre and dash my way to take a tramvai to my next destination for Biology classes. Road was all wet and covered in snow, almost everyone was squeezing their way into the trolleybus!

Nevertheless, I still take some time to cherish the winsomeness of winter :)

More than half of the class was late for class, it’s really difficult to catch a tramvai especially during winter. Even my lecturer was approximately 40 minutes late! He was considerate to give us a half an hour break to get some tit-bits in the Morphological Campus café.

Biology Control Test was a relief, my study paid off eventually.

It was a great day ^__^ God answered yesterday’s prayer since we prayed for a sunny smiley winter. Never knew that winter was so charming and splendour, something that I never had a chance to even glance at back in my home town!

Someday I’ll take this scene to the eyes of my beloved ones. .

-20 Degrees

View from my room

It stopped snowing for 2 days. Gah! It was an unpleasant sight, streets and pathways started to turn into a stretch of muddy way. Awful. Not forgetting to mention that it's colder without the snow.

Finally got my Math Control results back, rather satisfied of myself for getting close to excellence ^__^V Head to watch dolphin performance with seniors Lily, Jun & Sibol after Math class, my bad for ditching my friends when I was supposedly helping them for fund raising, but the tickets were bought a week earlier so nothing can be done.

Weather has been really outrageous, all of a sudden there was an extreme drop in temperature from -9 to -20 degrees! It's like a blizzard out there. Initially you appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of snow flakes falling down from the skies [ Yes, they DO look like snow flakes when it falls on your jacket ] but millions of snow flakes accompanied by the frosty wind blowing against your face? Trust me... you won't even need botox to preserve your face.

It's been a really exhausted week, drained most of my energy plus winter has got everyone to be lethargic. Only in my dreams I could dumped all my work and assignments aside and laze myself on the comfort of my own bed, unfortunately that only happens in my dream. In reality everyone's struggling against the flow of this hectic archetypal life.

Here's my bloody schedule for December:

1. Chemistry Control Test tomorrow and I seriously do not want to flunk it, having a sadistic lecturer forces me to squeeze every drop of brain juice just to keep myself focus on equations and uncountable theories.

2. I've got 3 pending Russian article, each consists of 300 words to be memorised and I believe it will undergo binary fission and multiply even more.

3. Biology Chemistry Control Test on Tuesday, I need to work on notes.

4. Performance this upcoming Wednesday in main campus as well as 28th December, 3 songs and a stinking play.

5. Christmas Dinner with friends on Christmas Day, J.E Christmas bash on 26th December.

6. Pending Christmas presents to be bought.

I believe this list will be extended soon enough, can't wait for new year holidays ^__^V

Snow ❄

Winter finally came knocking the doors of my expectance, it finally snowed here in Volgograd, Russia. My first time of experiencing snow ^__^b though it’s nothing than ice from ABC that we normally take back in Malaysia, only that it pours from the skies, its simply beautiful.

Just a glance from my hostel window, a sea of pure white snow appeared in front my naked eyes. Snow flakes falling gently from the skies. Gradually covering everything, literally everything in it’s arms. It forms a blanket of pure white snow. God’s marvelous creation.

I attended J.E service in the afternoon, tagged along with Lily & Sibol and got a pair of shoes, got back home and was ambushed by roommates to play in the snow at the basketball court. My Sundays is damn awesome!

It’s a really amazing experience :)

Note: Watching dolphin performance with Lily this Wednesday, Chemistry Concluding Test this Friday, snow fight again this Saturday. How’s ‘FREE’ is that?
