Window Tragedy

I’ve been slacking a lot of blogging lately, maybe the term ‘slacking’ may not be appropriately applicable in this context, however, I’m still able to squeeze most nibs of the happenings in one post.

Classes are proceeding, smooth but not glossy rough but not bumpy. What can I say? Even my brain is twisted by my own words, you readers just have to bear with my misshapen gobbledygook. Stress, pressure, excitement, fun just slides in simultaneous, I myself have not much time to self-adjust my brain-mode.

It can be really tiring sometimes, there’s been a renovation happening in our hostel. Never in my mind would I expected it to be such tiring. We had to pack most of our things from our room and moved it outside the room in order to give them space to do the renovation. You have no idea how bloody exhausted I was! Moving beds, dumping everything from bed sheets, pillows, tables, chairs and the whole vapid list goes on…

If expressed in Russian…Какой ужас!

So what do you expect us to do in the midst of frustration when everything was in disorder and the room has been turned totally upside down??? Take picture to kill time!

[  The 3rd picture just made everyone burst into laughter ]

Look at the bright side, after approximately an hour plus of cleaning, our room is damn clean with cool modern [ Well, I THINK it’s modern d-u-h ] windows. See! We’re like servant boys super pro in cleaning already!

Bakery

Like any typical Saturday, morning was spent on Russian class. As dull and tedious as it began, my Saturdays turned out to be another amazing day. I had a fantastic time doing baking with fellow awesome gang, Dennis, Mike, Abraham, Eelin as well as some seniors Lily, Jun & Hsu Zane.

Random pictures of ‘bakers’ in action!

Dennis’ mini pizzas

Egg Tarts

Cherry Cheese Cake which we shared among ourselves along with a night of fruitful talks and story sharing. Greats delicacies do bring great friends together to create great times :)

Rugged

A week has passed, it’s been harsh, rugged, rocky jagged and pitted.

Biology was pleasant, the only substandard point is that we need to change from the ‘trolleybus’ to ‘tramvai’ in order to head to another building – Morpho Corpus to attend Biology lessons. Our lecturer is so far, pleasant. Note that I am out of words for description but I do feel pleasant and stress-less in his class.

Am I even given any authority to judge university lecturers? I guess not. The gap between university and secondary school is beyond distance. Alright I better stay on my line before I digress from my tangent. Back to the topic…

Chemistry was a hell of a nightmare. Do not feel astounded about me saying that, no doubt that Chemistry is my favourite subject back in secondary school. But now, it has rebounded. 2 words to describe my lecturer, sadistic and sarcastic. We begin our classes with tests gave by her, followed by numerous questions shot by her again. In short, we’re required to be fully prepared for each of her lessons. It’s a dejecting case – SPARTA

Math, it’s identical like a shooting bullet! Notes, questions, assignments and we’re done with a topic. I need to congest every bit of information and digest it IMMEDIATELY, otherwise I’ll miss the train and there you go… another grave dug for my corpse.

It’s been pressuring, but compared to other seniors, I’m nothing but mediocre miniature termites fighting for a chunk of wood!

Other than that, it’s a Sunday and for the first time coming to Volgograd, I missed church service. Not intentionally, but I had a major headache after waking up at 10AM and headed straight to bed and woke up once more at 1.30 in the afternoon. I just released a whole ton of weight from my head – LIGHTER now.

Skyped with fellow friends having holidays now, feels great to be connected once more :) Made spaghetti with tomatos, capsicums and sausages for lunch and decided to do some finishing on my art.

A pile of unwashed clothes pending to be washed, I better start work N-O-W

First Chibi in Volgo

My passion towards anime chibi has not left adrift though I’m currently not in collaboration with all art tools. My drawing pencils, erasers, gel pens, poster colours etc. are left back in Kuching, what I have now is pathetically an archetypal pencil case like any typical ones. Thus, the lack of my tools is not a paucity but more like forfeiting a 3rd arm.

Nevertheless, I still manage to doodle some Chibis of my seniors since they requested to. With a stereotypical mechanical pencil, eraser and some papers… I’ve found a substitute of my 3rd arm to persist on my passion in Chibi.

First attempt doodling Hsu Zane, my 6th year senior. Moronically splattered some oil on it and thus…

Another better version of her. Notice the stars?? She loves stars.

Lily with her flats.

Jun’s one drawn specially on her birthday.

I recently got myself a sketch book, but I find it rather inconvenient to draw on it. Inspiration doesn’t seem to kick in, leaving it all abandoned and relinquished in the dusky ‘tumbochka’. I need inspiration!

Paintball

Last Wednesday was a public holiday for Russia, instead of letting time fritter away with nothingness and monotony… Hiding myself in this dusky room of mine being rooted with apathy and lassitude… I played paintball! It was actually a game with most 2nd, 3rd and 6th year seniors. The whole crew was there!

Try having paintball outside with a temperature of 0-3 degrees and you can kiss Malaysia's paintball goodbye.

A perfect day, effortless dinner since I bought ‘cha siew ‘ rice for 80 Rubles =]

Китай Город

Another belated post of what’s been happening, tagged along with seniors to ‘China Town’ also known as Kitai Gorad.

We had scrumptious Chinese food, believe it or not? Even in this plot of Russian land there is a place operated by folks from China.

I did smuggled something back, stainless steel chopsticks! It belongs to this restaurant and since we were absurdly desperate for chopsticks and we failed uncountable attempts to get a pair, so we just took the pair from this restaurant.

>.<

WASSUP! Making New Friends

I’ve passed into oblivion for the pass few weeks. Hectic schedule, lethargy, inadequacy in time or simply because of the lack of ‘servility’ towards my blog – You opt for the best factor.

Few weeks back, I attended an amazing activity held at the church office. WASSUP: Making New Friends at the church office.

In photograph : Xun Jin, Leed Fung, Dennis, Mike, Jonah, Brice, myself etc.

We were having fun singing songs of worship.

Listening to wonderful sermons.

Potential in Us

Attending cell groups and church services once a week with various Christians from all walks of life enhances my relationship with my beloved God. What’s more, we are just typical churchgoing committed Christians sharing experiences with one another and learning the words of God. In short, I feel closer to God here.

My first church service, I learned about ‘Potential’. This was a brief on what Xun Jin, a 5th year medical course senior shared with us.

On the way to church...
Definition of potential: Potential is having capacity to develop something into the future.

I’m sure most of you will never guess the precise location of the place that carries the highest potential is actually the graveyard. Jaws dropped but yeah… it is true. This is because at the graveyard lies an abundance of people that lived their lives but despairingly have not had the chance to release their full potential yet and eventually died. One will never know who they might turned into if they had released their full potential. Maybe the next millionaire? The upcoming renown cardiologist? Next astronaut? Or any next generation of people that hold great significance.

I always remind myself that our God can do everything, and He knows everything! He created us, instilled each and everyone with a plan ahead of us before we were even born. What’s important… He has implanted POTENTIAL in us and only if we release it… The sky is the limit ;)

The Bible says: “For I have plans for you, plans of good. I have a plan of hopes in each and everyone of you.”

In truth, the potential has been seeded within all and sundry. The question is…Are we going to release it? Only by releasing it, we have the chance of becoming someone that holds momentousness. Someone that can bring enormous not only to oneself, but also to people around him and even the nation! For God is amazing and He created plans that you can never imagine!

But, these things will forever remain as ‘might’ if we are not able or afraid to release the true potential within ourselves. We may only contribute to the perished closeted potentials buried in graveyards like any other fallen ones. Thus, accept God’s challenge and release the true potential in you!

Amazing things do happened!

I will share more topics in the future. What I learned from cell group gatherings and church services are lessons of life that assuredly turn my quintessential life fruitful.

Intimacy with God

Park
Being a Christian, I’m sure that some of you out there endured certain moments when we are lost and irretrievable from God. Intimacy with God holds great importance especially to a Christians’ life. One can find a million gibberish excuses not being able to spend time with our heavenly Father but somehow could not find a single reason to spare an extra minute just to stay connected to God.

We must be humble, for accepting Christ is the first step to build up an intimate relationship with God. The attitude of wanting to learn more and open up to our great Lord. This refers to times even when we encounter moments that we don’t trust Him or even loose hope in Him.

Building up a foundation in our life. If one has no solid foundation in his or her life, it is inevitable that they will not be able to stand strong and far. It is a necessary that to hold our belief and stand firm on our own ground, eventually you may realize that things begin to reverberate and rotate around us. Without a rigid foundation, one can reach no where. In order to do so, we must let the words of the Lord infuse into our lives.

The Bible mentioned that the words of God is sharper than a sword that can pierce through into the marrow. It is then words come alive and take over our life.

Our God is inexorable exceedingly, abundantly above all things. Ask yourself, are you holding the words of God? Ponder.

We begin by laying ourselves as the humble servant of our God, receiving and obeying his words. We then set a firm foundation and this is the time for us to grow! Even an unanimated tree inevitably obeys nature’s law and knows how to extend it’s branches and vines towards the sun; capturing and absorbing sunlight in order to grow. But we as humans, intermittently cannot find our own ‘sun’ – Vision. Thus, the importance of growth.

The Bible said that those without visions will parish. Without visions we have no dreams. The main problem is not being unable to have visions, but… dare not to have dreams.

God wants us to release potentials and bare good fruits, both spiritually and physically. A good tree will not bare bad fruits and vice versa. Of course a tree that bares the best fruit will never be chopped down. Take a tree as an example, we are who we are depending on the fruit we bare. Joy, peace, love, kindness, patience & self control.

In our archetypal life, we may experienced parasitism. Our acquaintances will either build us up or thrust us downwards. Doing things that are not important or things that may ‘seemed’ important which in reality waste our time are instance of parasites in our life. These indubitably are pioneers to all the gibberish excuses we give for not being able to spend time with God.

We will be disconnected from the branch if we are not walking consistently with the life of God. Likewise, we will not die straight but the process of death has already begun without our own consciousness. As time passed by, we may eventually fade. So, it is important to walk together with God.

John 15.5
“I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth me and in Him, the same bringeth forth much fruit for without me ye can do nothing.”
