Dining & Connecting

Finally I had my sushi session with a few friends of mine, Eelin, Sharifah & Areena. We've had this unaccomplished plan months ago and finally all of a sudden we randomly decided to dine at ‘Yakitoria’ for Japanese cuisine. Volgograd’s best Japanese restaurant ever.

Part of the food we ordered

The first time I tasted unagi here, I was on cloud 9. I was floating on heaven I tell you, it was really beyond delicious that no words can described.

All in all it summed up with a huge hole in my pocket, 690 roubles gone for 3 dishes, but it was really worth every single penny.

Saturday night, I had another dine out session along with Dennis, Mike, Eelin, Jacqueline, Kalis, Kenji and soon-to-be doctors Hsu Zane & Puna at Frontel.

It’s nice gathering around with friends, I enjoyed every moment of it. I feel closer, more secure and connected with my buddies. It made me realised how grateful I am to be surrounded by such amazing people.

Short break from all the piling work and accumulating tests I’m about to face. Anticipating for more.

Human Life

The human life is made up of choices. Yes or no. In or out. Up or down, and then there are the choices that matter. Love or hate. To be a hero or to be a coward. To fight or to give in. To live. Or die. Live or die. That's the important choice, and it's not always in our hands.

Elista: Park

Finally we walked to a recreational park whereby local folks gather around and enjoy themselves, especially during this spring season.

View

There were fountains

Adorable baby with giant chess; notice the guy with hats on, he’s actually dueling with another player

Had some funky photo shots

… and some crazy ones as well

There goes another productive holiday to a trip to Elista.

Elista: Golden Temple Of Buddha Shakyamuni

Next stop, we visited The Golden Temple Of Buddha Shakyamuni. Elista is a filled occupied mainly by Mongolians. It triggered a strange feeling looking at familiar Chinese faces but none of them were able to communicate in Mandarin but only Russian.

There were golden statues of gods in different postures

Eelin & roller thingies that we're supposed to roll them

Some guy that I initially thought it was Confucius

Too bad we were not allowed to take any pictures inside the temple, it was amazing. Admiring their artwork and learning about their history despite the fact that we could only understand a quarter of everything since it was all in Russian.

Elista Trip: Orthodox Church

My friends and I went for a trip to Elista a couple of weeks back. It took us more than 5 hours bus trip but we did managed to stop by a couple of interesting places, like this one!

Girls are supposedly to wear a veil to cover their heads, a tradition basically for Orthodox believers.

Love, Courage

We take a risk when we open our hearts because the truth is, if we open our hearts, we will get hurt.

You can’t open your heart and not have some hurt because you’re in a human experience.

Even if it’s the love of your life and you have many wonderful, deepening, growing, powerful years together, it’s a human experience and that person will pass over.

Love takes courage. Be courageous.

Tired Bones

I’ve been doing so much things lately that I felt overly productive for a split second, someone willing to be my personal assistant? Or maybe Indonesian maid? Screw that…

Batman!

Anatomy fun, you got to play with skeletons and see dead corpse and internal organs but naming them will be hellish. ‘Lucky’ me, I skipped 2 lessons since I was hospitalized and had my first test during my first lesson. Fun, she dumped me a skull and named every part of in; even fun, naming in Latin. Then she flips over and I continued naming them. Result, I got a 4 instead of a 5 despite the fact I named everything.

Pirate! Dennis & I were just too bored

Lesson learned. She never gave 5s to students who had their first test according to my friends who had theirs.

We’ll be having concluding test this Monday for anatomy, test for physics this coming Wednesday and another test on Chemistry this Saturday since we did pretty badly for it previously. No one got a grade 5 and practically only 5 of us got 4 or 4+, thank God I survived.

But still, life’s been bitter and sweet at the same time. Will elaborate more on it when I have the time.

At the mean time, MSL finally confirmed my tickets. I’ll be heading back on 6th of August, Moscow – Singapore – Malaysia :) Next thing on the list is to settle tickets to visit St. Petersburg during summer break.

Facts

Me: Dennis! Listen to this, Americans have sex 118 times a year, below the average of 127. Eastern Europeans have sex an average 150 times a year. The countries with the lowest sex frequencies are Sweden (102), Malaysia (100), and Singapore (96).

Dennis: Wow...

Me: Look at the bright side, at least Malaysia is famous for something.

Abraham: Faster go Dennis, do more do more!

Dennis: Later mati pucuk larh!

Me: At least Malaysia's sex frequency is 100, sad Singaporeans too stress less than 100. By the way, the total weight of all the ants on Earth is about the same as the weight of all the humans on earth.

Dennis: Woooh...

Me: I feel so smart :)

Busy Is Never Enough

It seemed like I’ve been disconnected from all the current issues lately, all the cramming, jamming, filling into my cranium and endless activities ate up all my time. 24 hours a day is never adequate for someone like me.
Saturday – lunch with friends to celebrate Abraham’s birthday as well as some window shopping with friends. Not exactly window shopping, I got another piece from ZARA. This will be my last since I need it for special occasion. Rushed back for rehearsal for next day’s MCSC dinner.

Flew back to hostel by 7.30 to prepare for Abraham’s birthday dinner. Literally died on my bed by 1AM.
Sunday – Leet Liang came busting the door for food preparation as early as 7.30AM, lugged myself up and went upstairs to help out with Dennis and the other seniors. Fried more than 5kg of pork or more, I’ll even puke my pancreas out when I see pork every again. Helped out with Jun after that. Dozed off for half an hour and had to iron my attires.

2PM, attended MCSC Installation, Farewell & Appreciation event at a bar. It was all high and exciting. Free poll dancing further more [will blog about this event soon]. Reached home around 9, got myself ready and starting cramming more than 44 bones situated on the skull for next day’s test.
Monday – Russian class was dizzy and tiring since everyone was exhausted due to party. Headed for Anatomy class and I managed to get a 4, screw the lecturer. I answered everything the teacher asked while she was playing around with the skull, me… naming every single part in Latin.

Why? Cause’ it’s the first exam and no one ‘so-called’ deserved a 5 for it. Rubbish
More on Monday – Prepared for Dennis’ birthday celebration, had an amazing steamboat plus cake cutting celebration until this bitch came scolding us and chased all the seniors away for making too much noise. Well, shove some poop on her face, I didn’t see her chasing Arabians away when they were smoking and shouting like barbarians. It’s either racism or they offered her ‘service’.
Picture editing, video editing for this Saturday’s 6th year seniors farewell dinner, Physics work due this Wednesday, Organic Chemistry independent work this Saturday, Anatomy Concluding Test next Monday.

Someone slam my head so that I can faint for the entire week please?

День Победы

9th of May states the 65th Victory Day for Russians here, it was really a happening event and of course I didn’t miss my chance to have a little tour around the city on what’s been happening on that day.

I seriously admire their patriotic spirit towards their country. Malaysians? Think again

Arabian Cuisine

I had another great hang out session with my fellow batch mates right after our ‘Victory Day’ event last week.

It was a new restaurant furnished in Arabian theme, located underground.

We had great Arabian food as well as delicious Russian cuisine.

Mike, Eelin, Areena, Sharifah, Me, Kalis, Kenji, Dennis, Abraham It all summed up to another magnificent day

Lately

Sometimes we get get overly excessively bored with absolutely nothing to do, thus we complained. Sometimes we can get inordinately wildly busy with piling of work and assignments and we also griped till we puked our stomach out. What are the odds of facing all this in life?

Life as I see it, is the player and we are all it's chess pieces.

I was assigned on an invitation card making project by MCSC, all in all 8 pieces completed thanks to caffeine and late night series. Snoozed at 4AM and woke up at 9AM the next day to continue to work, rushed to the fabric shop to add some embellishments and there you go, work completed.

Total time needed: 12 hours

Instead of catching my sleep, I finally head to gym. My arms are like paper now, dislocated from its joints. Thanks to all my rusted synovial fluid. It's hellish but at the same time... doing something 'new' I presume. You'll see me moving from different places next time.

That's what Owen mentioned.

A 2 page Russian text to memorise with less than a day, but I managed to crammed half of it until Mike & I ended up crashing at Hsu Zane's & Jun's place for some chit chatting session.

So, my text died when I reached the final last paragraph when I read it in from of my Russian teacher.

It's been raining a lot recently, do I have an umbrella you asked me? No! Cause' I never seen any guys using umbrellas yet. Besides, what are the chances of getting poured by rain during spring? So far, once.

Tickets have finally been booked, now waiting for the donkey working with MSL to confirm my tickets returning back to Malaysia. Seriously, it's been a month and he hasn't reply any mails regarding my confirmation regarding my tickets for Singapore Airlines. I assumed he's just probably forwarding similar messages to every student and continue streaming live porn.

So much study, so much to buy, so much to gripe, so much to strive.

Shall repair this blog of mine in a jiffy.

Tangled

3 days of holidays just swift away just like that, I had an amazing trip to Elista, went out with friends to witness Russia’s Victory Day celebration [ which I tend to blog about them when I’m actually done procrastinating free ]

My hands are all tangled up with the amount of work I’m handling currently. 8 invitation cards for final year seniors who will be graduating soon for this Sunday’s appreciation lunch, I have less than 48 hours to complete them and yet I’m only done with phase 1.

Physics homework due this Wednesday yet I haven’t started any of them, I’ll try to miraculously dig out time to complete them. Worst comes to worst… copy *slaps self*

Preparation for upcoming Chemistry lesson this Saturday, epic failed. Might start this Thursday I hope?

On the contrary, I stumbled upon another semi casual coat from Top Man, didn’t managed to check out the price cause’ I bet it’s throat slitting and another beach wear from Benetton. I need a personal psychiatrist to hypnotize myself to be thrifty in order to save money for St. Petersburg trip this summer.

At the mean time, laundry is tiring, gym is still in my pending list, an idiotic fridge to be changed or else all my food will be scattered around Jun’s fridge. Blood sucking mosquitoes and insects invading our room thanks to burning weather.

Serena Van Der Woodsen is so far the dumbest blond ever.

Happy Mother’s Day & Happy Birthday

Happy Mother’s Day & Happy Birthday

Love you and miss you always mummy!

Thanks for everything, I wish I could get a bouquet of tulips for you.
