HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELINA TAN ( 2nd June )
This pixie-sized girl can really fly
It's Gawai, Happy Gawai to all my native friends and teachers. "Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai" though I have no idea at all what does that phrase mean. Tagged along with my parents for visiting, called up Chong to ask him to follow but too bad he's busy with other plans. Boredom kills sometimes when tagging along with parents ONLY. Reached Mr. Nojip's house first and he gave me this 'lemang' but has to be eaten using the traditional way. It's akin to a banana with bamboo skin, I just realised that it IS bamboo skin.
The whole day was occupied with visiting. Food was awesome especially 'pansuh' and 'tuak' which Chinese failed to prepare. Pn. Christine has 'labi-labi' which was supposed to be the highlight among all her food, but then it has this unbearable stench which I simply couldn't tolerate.
That's the front of Reginald's house, dad drove all the way to his village. From this snap it's obviously a rural area. Hard to reverse when tackling a vehicle in rural areas compared to visiting in the city. I'm such an imbecile for mistaken that 3 rows chicken coops are traditional long houses, seriously they look the same from far; only that it's a habitat for chickens instead of humans. Yes... Sakai!I reached home by the evening, all bloated and sweaty thanks to get weather. I missed Vivi's, Felicia's & Alicia's house, my bad.
